Ever since I bought my 2, I always noticed there was some old oil on the vacuum lines running below the distributor. Twos r us distributor rebuild kit did the trick. It included an internal oil seal and bearing, external oil seal, and cap gasket too. I already had a cap, rotor, plugs and wires ready to go in so I figured I would knock this out of the way before I continue on to the suspension.
Oh yeah, I seafoamed the car the other day too with good results. A humongous amount of smoke came out, my step mom came running out of the house to see what happened. Once I got it out on the open road I floored it and as soon as I got into boost an absolutely ridiculous amount of smoke came pouring out. There was a guy tailgating me and he completely became invisible from the smoke, I let off and apparently he slammed on the brakes because he was nowhere near me anymore. I must admit, driving around smoking like a chimney was a ton of fun.
Here are the pics. of the distributor rebuild. I had to remove a pin that was made out of kryptonite or something. I was using my bench vise and ended up breaking the bolt that holds my bench vise together. Got another stronger bolt from the hardware store and everything went smoothly after that.
